I read the book and it was same s*** as the Jdubs push. It was given to me by a "Christian" friend of mine and being an open minded person I read it. The theme of the book was fear and guilt, do as I say or you will go to hell etc. I was not to impressed with it. Will

I didn't confess to the elders but my ex did. She told them all our nasty sexual postions, blow by blow accounts about our depraved lust. They told her not to do it and that was the end of our marraige. I think the old boys used to get their jollies out of what my my ex would tell them.

Would you share a winning lottery ticket???..help please
by morty inok, so here is the situation...... yesterday, i had bought a scratch ticket and i won 20.00 bucks on it...i was heading back to the store to cash it in but, not all of it...i wanted $17.00 in cash and in addition i wanted another ticket..as i was heading out the door, my brother asked to come with me to grab a few things at the store as well...this was not a problem....he got into the van and we headed off to the store...once we arrived to the store, i was still smoking my cigarette so i asked my brother to cash in my ticket for me and grab me another ticket and my $17.00 bucks while i wait in the car.
he said "sure, no problem"...at the same time, he asked me for a loan of $10.00 bucks.
i gave him the money with no questions asked.

No you are not being selfish. You were not obligated to give him anything. $50.00 is more than generous. I had a similar thing happen to me years ago where I thought I had won big money on a contest. When it comes to money the true colors of a person really come through. The old saying someone told me long ago is there is 2 things you don't trust another man with and that is money and woman. ok, so i allways thought that dating someone who used to be a witless would be cool , since you would both kinda know what the other had been through in his/her life.
so my question is: how many of you date/have dated ex-witnesses, why or why not and does the relationship benifit from it...and just your ideas about it in general.. .

I think that dating an ex Jdub could be OK as long as both people have come to terms with and accepted their past as something to learn and grow from with no bitterness or bend up angry. Some ex dubs are still living in the past and have so much angry and hatred that it is not a good way to enter into a relationship on these bases.

April 12, 2005Damian Inwood, with a file from Jack Keating The Province A 14-year-old Okanagan member of the Jehovah's Witness church has lost a bitter court battle against receiving blood transfusions.
B.C. Supreme Court Justice Mary Boyd ruled yesterday that a provincial court judge had the power to authorize emergency transfusions against the girl's will.
Her lawyer, Shane Brady, said the girl's family is "disappointed" and is considering taking the case to the B.C. Court of Appeal.
"The family is disappointed because their position has been, all along, that once the court has found that she is as capable as you and I, that young woman should make the decision," said Brady.
The girl's name and her hometown can't be revealed, due to a publication ban. She was not in court yesterday.
Brady said the girl believed transfusions were a "violation of the biblical command to abstain from blood. The decision is based on her religious conscience."
The girl was diagnosed in December with a cancerous tumour on her right leg. The tumour was removed and she began chemotherapy.
After the girl and her family refused consent for blood transfusions, the case was forwarded to B.C.'s director of Child, Family and Community Service.
In court documents, the girl described how a transfusion would contravene her religious beliefs.
"It's no different than somebody getting sexually assaulted or raped or robbed or something," she said. "You'd feel violated because it's not anybody else's property, it's you."
Lawyers for the girl fought the case on the grounds the girl was not represented by legal counsel and that she was a "mature minor," capable of deciding her own treatment. They also said the girl's Charter rights were infringed by provincial law and she had suffered age discrimination.
Boyd said yesterday that by March 15, the girl's hemoglobin dropped to "well below" levels where a transfusion is normally given.
Boyd found that Provincial Court Judge Paul Meyers was "considered, thoughtful and sensitive" in ensuring the child had a fair hearing on March 18.
Boyd said doctors needed the "safety net" of having a transfusion available to continue with a more invasive cycle of chemo that the girl is due to start tomorrow. Meyers acted properly and "did everything possible to ensure the utmost fairness," said Boyd. That included talking to the girl by phone in her hospital bed.
Boyd said provincial laws allow courts to protect the rights of children in need of medical treatment. "All children are entitled to be protected from abuse and harm . . . the ultimate threat of harm would be death," she added.
Boyd said that while the girl was free to choose and practise her religion, that right was "not absolute" and orders could be made in a child's best interests.
"Ultimately, her religious beliefs don't override her right to life and health," Boyd said.
Raymond Busby, an elder in Burnaby's Capital Hill Jehovah's Witnesses congregation, said religious beliefs come first.
"The Bible has clear standards that we are not to take blood as Christians," he said.

by ScoobySnax inok this one is 2 fold..... tonight i was chatting to my ex on the internet and despite 5 years elapsing, he wants to go out for a beer.
he was a creep at the time we split, good looking and all the rest, but prone to violent outbursts and had this knack of making me think i didn't need any other friends (i gradually dropped them all) whilst all the time becoming more controlling........it messed up my head at the time.
(like a dumb twat i even gave him all my visa cards as he said he'd be better at managing "our" money) apparently he is now a changed person, and i am too, no longer as gullible as i once was.
